In 1929 George Throsby first opened a law office in Moss Vale as a branch of the Sydney practice known as Wilkinson & Throsby.

Owen Edwards became a partner in 1948, which prompted the firm to change its name to Wilkinson, Throsby & Edwards.

Owen Edwards and George Throsby ran the practice successfully for over 20 years until George Throsby’s sudden death in 1970.

Owen Edwards continued the practice and was joined in 1973 by David Cummins and Garry Barnsley.

In 1983, the Bowral law firm known as Price Prentice & Co merged with Wilkinson Throsby & Edwards. Leslie Price and Claud Prentice continued as consultants to the merged firms for many years.

In 1985, after Owen Edwards’ retirement, Brian Hanrahan and Irene Pickel joined David Cummins and Garry Barnsley as partners of the firm.

In the mid-1980s, the firm took over the practice known as TAF McCarthy & Son of Moss Vale following the retirement of its then principal, TV McCarthy.

Susan McGowan and Andrew Cameron became partners in the firm in 1989.

In the years that followed the partnership evolved and from October 2009, David Cummins and Brian Hanrahan were the principals of the firm.

In 2013, Christopher Young joined David Cummins and Brian Hanrahan in partnership.

In 2020 an incorporated legal practice - WTE Law Pty Ltd trading as Wilkinson, Throsby & Edwards - was established.

The directors and principals of the practice are Chris Young and Sarah Young.
